I was invited to a plate show at Jay Jay's in Sacramento. It's a 12.5 inch ceramic plate from IKEA. Thrift shop find. Gold and black enamel pen.
These are two paintings that are in progress at the moment. The top one is a 121" X 60.5" diptych on canvas. The bottom one is 72" x 48" canvas on panel. This panel was given to me by Carol Satriani when we lived in Vallejo.
Some of my paintings have fun stories and this is one of them. It was on the set of New Moon in Vancouver to be installed in the vampires mansion, but there was concern over four of the appropriated images. Actually one of them wasn't appropriated at all, but was my initials made into a quirky shape. After going back and forth in emails, it was decided to return the painting to the gallery in SF. Every story doesn't have a happy ending, but this one does. "Christonite," has found residency in a mortal home.
